Someone You Should Know: Jackie Haltmeyer, 50-Year Employee
(CBS) -- She's been on the job for 50 years and still loves it.
CBS 2's Harry Porterfield says Jackie Haltmeyer is someone you should know.
Meet Jackie Haltmeyer, traffic manager at the Black Hawk Molding Co. in west suburban Addison.
This year, she celebrates her 50th year as an employee.
"I had three small children when I started and I came here just for a while to help out with the family funds. My youngest daughter was three months old," she says. "I started on second shift. Because it was close to home I was able to get home if there was an emergency."
Black Hawk produces plastic dairy caps and water bottle caps by the millions.
Robert Hidding is vice president of the family owned company. He was seven when Jackie started working there.
"I'd come down here to play, and sometimes I would be caught horsing around," he says. "Jackie would very kindly, yet very motherly, move me on and request that I leave."
"They're quite amazed that I'm able at my age to do what I'm doing -- and I am, too," Jackie says.
