Someone You Should Know: Entertainer Sam Lozada
(CBS) – He's a musician who brings entertainment to older people all over the area.
CBS 2's Harry Porterfield says Sam Lozada is someone you should know.
You could call him a music machine. Singer, songwriter, composer and instrumentalist Sam Lozada -- also known as "Mo Beat Blues" – has all those talents.
"I do my own music in my studio," he says, "and then I come out and perform."
Residents of Portage, Ind., Lozada and his wife, Janice, perform at more than 300 nursing homes. He solos on the harmonica, also known to blues musicians as a harp.
"I always had the harmonica. The harmonica expresses my feeling," Sam Lozada said recently as he and his wife entertained an audience of folks at the Spring Mill Health Campus in Merrillville, Ind.
The music connected with Frederick Lloyd.
"Makes you feel like you want to get up and dance," he said.
Lozada loves to see it.
"I have more fun than they did," he said.
