Some People You Should Know: Funny Bones Improv
CHIAGO (CBS) – The Funny Bones Improv group is just what the doctor ordered.

It's the kind of medicine that doesn't come in a bottle or as a pill. You can't get too much of it. It's laughter, and these volunteers always have the right prescription for what ails kids.
Twice each month, members of Funny Bones visit a hospital to cheer up sick kids. One a recent occasion, they appeared at the children's section of Rush University Medical Center.
"Sometimes things can be sad or stressful or difficult to go through, so we want to provide a little comic relief and hopefully some good laughter medicine," director Jenny Finkel says.
The participants are all trained improvisers with experience at Second City, Annoyance and ComedySportz. Funny Bones was founded in Chicago in 2008 and since that time the performers have entertained some 3,000 hospitalized kids.
"This is an opportunity for them to feel they're not sick, they're not in the hospital, they have an opportunity to experience laughter," Jenna Scott, child life specialist at the hospital, says.
