UPDATED 12/13/10 10:47 a.m.
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Smoke from a switchbox heater sent fire crews to a Blue Line subway station in the Loop Monday morning, but no injuries were reported.
Smoke from a switchbox heater was reported at the LaSalle subway station at 9:55 a.m., CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis said.
By about 10 a.m., however, the scene was secured by fire crews and no injuries were reported, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado.
By 10:30 a.m., normal train operations had resumed, Lukidis said. Power had been removed in both directions from Clark/Lake to UIC-Halsted, although a bus shelter was running to assist customers, she said.
