Small Fire In Lake Shore Drive High-Rise
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A kitchen fire was quickly extinguished Thursday morning in a high-rise building on Lake Shore Drive in the East Lakeview neighborhood.
The fire in a 19-story condo building at 3420 N. Lake Shore Dr. was reported about 8:15 a.m. and was quickly elevated to an EMS Plan 1, a precautionary measure when dealing with high-rise fires, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis said.
The fire was found in a kitchen on the fifth floor and was extinguished within 15 minutes. No one was injured and the building was not evacuated, Curtis said.
