Foley's family said it was hard returning to Chicago. It was his mother Diane Foley's first time visiting her son's alma mater, the Medill School of Journalism. But she says she did it for her son his legacy.
Foley's mother called on journalists to continue telling the stories he so loved to tell.
James Foley will receive the Medill Medal for Courage on Dec. 3.
