Slain Chicago Officers' Names Added To Memorial

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four more names have been added to the police memorial at the Chicago headquarters of the Fraternal Order of Police--the names of officers who died in the line of duty in the past 12 months.

The room was packed with police and police family to see the names of four more slain officers added to the memorial wall outside FOP headquarters on West Washington Street.

"I ask that you tell their stories," said Michael Shields, president of the FOP. "Tell the stories of those officers that are on the walls."

Diane Sainsot, the sister of Officer Thor Soderberg, was there with her mother, remembering Officer Soderberg and what he did for people.

"We got together with other people and they were telling the stories of all the people that Thor helped," Sainsot said. "A kid that got in trouble for stealing a belt. Thor was called and convinced the store owner not to prosecute the boy. And he bought the belt for the boy. The kid said he just didn't have the money to buy a belt."

The names of Soderberg and officers Thomas Wortham, Michael Bailey and Michael Flisk were added to the wall.
