Six Hurt When Car Crashes Through Yard In Austin
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four adults and two children were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon, after a car crashed through a wrought iron fence and into the front yard of a house in the Austin neighborhood.
WBBM Newsradio's John Cody reports Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said a car went out of control, went through a fence, and ended up against the steps of the front porch of a house at 1504 N. Central Av.
Six Hurt In Austin Crash
The Chicago Fire Department sent five ambulances to the scene late Wednesday afternoon.
"All the patients were occupants in the automobile. Fortunately, according to the chief, the car did not run over anyone, or strike anyone that was on the porch," Langford said.
He said paramedics began treatment for all six people who were hurt at the scene. Two adults were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Two adults and two children were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Langford said all six were considered to be in serious condition before they went to the hospital.
