Six Hurt In South Elgin Crash
SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (STMW) - Six people were hospitalized after a Wednesday evening chain-reaction crash in northwest suburban South Elgin.
The crash happened about 6 p.m. at Randall and Silver Glen roads in South Elgin, according to South Elgin police Chief Chris Merritt.
Five cars were traveling south on Randall Road when one of the vehicles crossed into another lane and caused a chain-reaction crash, Merritt said.
Six people were taken to Provena Saint Joseph Hospital and Sherman Hospitals, both in Elgin, Merritt said. None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
Officers reopened all lanes about 6:30 p.m.
Police are still trying to determine what caused the vehicle to change lanes, the chief said.
