Since The Bears Last Won At Soldier Field ...
(CBS) It was just more than 11 short (OK, really long) months ago that the Bears won a regular-season game at Soldier Field, beating the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. The Bears get another chance Sunday when they host the Vikings, and they'd be wise to improve to 1-3 on the home turf.
Not just for the city's sanity and Marc Trestman's future, but because life is really passing them by since that last home win.
Consider what's happened since Dec. 9, 2013:
--- The Packers, Bills, Packers again and Dolphins have won at Soldier Field.
--- The Blackhawks have won a game at Soldier Field. They beat the Penguins, 5-1, on March 1 in the Stadium Series.
--- The All Blacks demolished the USA Eagles, 74-6, at a sold-out Soldier Field on Nov. 1. They're a rugby team from New Zealand.
--- Jay Z, Beyonce, Luke Bryan and One Direction were among the artists/bands to get Soldier Field more fired up than the Bears have in 2014.
--- The Cubs have transformed from the Lovable Losers to a squad that actually has the attention of their division rivals.
--- Bulls guard Mike James was under contract with the team, waived, signed to a 10-day contract, let go, signed to a non-guaranteed deal, waived and then set off to the Texas Legends of the D-League.
--- The world's population has grown by more than 70 million. Unfortunately, none of them has yet grown old enough to be a difference-maker on the Bears defense.
--- The Polar Vortex nearly paralyzed Chicago.
Joakim Noah just couldn't believe the news of snow in April.
Then summer hit, and now we're worried about the next polar vortex.
--- Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau took a break from watching film long enough to crack a joke. About dating Kate Upton.
--- Australia won three Winter Olympics medals. We think they might get a couple inches of snow a year in the highlands on the eastern front.
--- Oregon, Alaska and Washington D.C. have passed laws to legalize marijuana.
--- 670 The Score co-host Patrick Mannelly was, umm, on the Bears as the long snapper. Now he's arguing with Dan Bernstein during transition every weekday.
