Simms: Cutler 'Was Made To Play In Chicago'
Like most things in sports, no two athletes do something the same. In baseball, some batters use pine tar and some use batting gloves. NFL quarterbacks can be similar when it comes to the way they throw the football and the condition of the ball, as well.
Jay Cutler doesn't care the condition of the football he throws in a game. If anything, he prefers to use the brand new footballs that most quarterbacks hate. Some people consider Cutler's preference, or lack there of, as a detriment. Former Super Bowl MVP, Phil Simms sees things a different way.

"Let me just say this,' Simms said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "I look at it a different way. I look at it as one of his great traits. That he's not going to sweat the small stuff like that, and not try to control things that he can't control."
For the most part, Cutler didn't appear to be effected by the weather conditions in Sunday's game against the Patriots. His ability to throw in poor weather might have more to do with the way he throws, and not the type of football he throws.
"People don't put enough stock on the different levels of throwers in the NFL," Simms said. "And I don't care what anyone says. [Cutler] is an incredible incredible thrower of the ball. And like I said, he's an all-weather thrower, it's good to watch. I think he's played very well this year. It's true what Lovie Smith said, this guy was made to play in Chicago."
