Shoulder Surgery Sidelines NU's Demps For Season
(CBS) Northwestern freshman guard Tre Demps will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, the Wildcats announced Tuesday.
Demps played in four games despite the injury, but only averaged 2.3 points while playing 14.3 points per game.
"The injury really limited Tre and it was in his best interest to get it taken care of at this time," head coach Bill Carmody said in a statement. "By getting the surgery done now, it should allow him to return to full strength by late spring."
Northwestern is off to a 7-1 start this season.
