Shots Fired At Nightclubbers On Bishop Ford, Driver Wounded
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorist was shot while driving on the Bishop Ford Freeway early Sunday on the Far South Side.
It happened about 4 a.m. on the northbound Bishop Ford at 130th Street, according to Illinois State Police District Chicago sergeant.
The man was driving a vehicle with two other men after leaving a nightclub in the city, where a fourth friend had been arrested at the club, the sergeant said.
While driving a gunmen in another vehicle fired "multiple rounds in the driver's side door" and the motorist was struck in the foot. They exited the highway and drove to a Chicago Fire Department station in the Roseland neighborhood where an ambulance transported the driver to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he'd been released as of 10:15 a.m. the sergeant said.
The victim and his passengers were not cooperating with authorities at the hospital who called Chicago Police to notify them of the incident, the sergeant said.
No one is in custody as of 10:15 a.m. and ISP are handling the investigation, the sergeant said.
