Man critically wounded in shooting during robbery at store on Chicago's South Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot and critically wounded during a robbery at a store in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood in broad daylight Wednesday.
At 12:31 p.m., a 51-year-old man was inside a retail store in the 7500 block of South Racine Avenue when two people came in.
One of those two people demanded property from the victim at gunpoint, and then shot him in the chest and right leg, police said.
The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
Police did not specify whether the attackers got away with any proceeds in the robbery.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
