Bystander grazed when men open fire at gas station in Oak Lawn
OAK LAWN, Ill. (CBS) -- A bystander was grazed by a bullet when three men wearing construction vests began shooting at a gas station in Oak Lawn late Tuesday.
Oak Lawn police said at 5 p.m., they were called to the BP station at 11040 S. Pulaski Rd. for shots fired.
They learned three men wearing high-visibility construction vests had gotten out of a dark Dodge and began firing at a white Chevrolet suburban – whose driver was pumping gas.
The driver of the SUV ran toward the gas station, then back to his vehicle and drove away. The suspects also drove off in the Dodge, speeding away north on Pulaski Road.
A car matching the description of the Dodge was spotted on license plate readers with a registration of H411418. That registration is reported stolen.
The gas station was damaged by the gunfire, and one bystander suffered a graze wound to his shoulder when his car was struck. He was treated and released from a local hospital.
