Shooting in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood leaves man dead

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening in the Uptown neighborhood.

At 7:39 p.m., the man—age unconfirmed—was shot by an unknown person in the 900 block of West Eastwood Avenue, right off Sheridan Road.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died, police said.

No one was in custody late Tuesday. Belmont Area detectives were investigating.
