Sheriff's Police Want To Know If Suspect Victimized Other Girls
(STMW) -- A west suburban man is behind bars Thursday, charged with having a sexual relationship with an 11-year-old girl, and police believe he may have had contact with other young girls.
Brian Thurman, 28, of Melrose Park, was charged Sunday with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault and is being held in the Cook County Jail on a $480,000 bond, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
On Jan. 11, a caller told sheriff's police that Thurman was having an "inappropriate relationship" with the 11-year-old at his motel room in unincorporated Leyden Township.
Deputies investigated and discovered he was "involved in sexual activities" with the girl, and that he had been "associated" with other girls in the past, the statement said.
Witnesses also reported seeing other young girls around the motel room, and the sheriff's office is asking for the public's help in finding other girls who might have been victims.
Thurman has been known to frequent Chicago's Northwest side and the Mannheim Road area of Leyden Township.
Anyone with information should call sheriff's detectives at (708) 865-4896.
