Sharp Out For Hawks Opener
Talk about strange and even further, strange timing. Patrick Sharp apparently will not play in the Blackhawks home opener as the team has called up 19-year-old center Brandon Pierri.
Word leaked out mid-afternoon that Sharp would not play tonight but no explanation has been given by the team. Sharp went through the team's morning skate and looked fine but he did hit his head on the Colorado goaltender's pads at the end of the game the other night, so that easily could be the reason he might not play this evening.
Not jumping to any conclusions but concussions have been so much in the news lately that the team might be very cautious with this situation.
The Hawks are usually very tight lipped with any injuries and could just say that this is an upper body injury so stay tuned to 670 The Score.
