Severity Of Jay Cutler's Injury Not Yet Known

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The play that dramatically changed the course of Sunday's game at Soldier Field may have also impacted the Bears' hopes for the coming weeks.
Late in the second quarter of Chicago's 48-23 loss to Arizona, Jay Cutler was intercepted by the Cardinals' Troy Jefferson. As the last line of defense, Cutler attempted to tackle Jefferson but hit the ground hard. He wouldn't return, and Bears coach John Fox referred to the injury as a pulled hamstring.
"Don't know any updates on that," Fox said after the game.
Bernstein: It's all about perspective for the Bears
Despite the appearance that Cutler suffered an injury near his shoulder, Fox said it's a hamstring injury. He will undergo tests to determine the extent of the injury.
The pick-six gave Arizona a 28-14 lead at the time. Jimmy Clausen stepped in and went 14-of-23 for 121 yards and an interception. At the time of his injury, Cutler was 8-of-9 for 120 yards and a touchdown. The interception would go as his lone incompletion.
After the game, Bears players had little information to the extent of Cutler's injury.
"I watch a lot of House, but I have no idea what the severity of his injury is," Bears tight end Martellus Bennett said. "I've never diagnosed them."
Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said that his team didn't make any defensive adjustments when Clausen entered the game in Cutler's place. The Bears' next game is a week from Sunday in Seattle against the defending NFC champion Seahawks.
