Several Aldermen Preparing Ordinance To Exempt Non-Profits From Water Bills
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Several Chicago Aldermen say they're prepared to force a vote on an ordinance that would exempt many charitable organizations from Mayor Emanuel's move to make non-profit groups pay for city water, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.

To be honest, 2nd Ward Alderman Robert Fioretti says he hasn't seen the mayor's ordinance yet and whether it exempts enough charities.
But if it doesn't, he says he and some colleagues have their own.
"We plan on pulling it out of the committee and having it voted on at Wednesday's meeting of the City Council," said Fioretti.
The measure languishing in the budget committee would exempt agencies that provide a solid benefit to the community.
"Our shelters, educational facilities, items across the board. I think it is quite clear that they must show a positive effect on the City of Chicago," said Fioretti.
Fioretti says the charities also would have to have water conservation measures in place.
