Services To Be Held For Local Soldier Killed In Iraq
HOMER GLEN, Ill. (CBS) -- Services will be held later this week for a southwest suburban soldier who was killed in Iraq last week.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Regine Schlesinger reports, Pfc. Michael Olivieri, 26, had been due to come home to Homer Glen this week, to celebrate his first wedding anniversary on Monday and to attend his sister's wedding at the end of the month.

Olivieri graduated from Lockport Township High School, attended Southern Illinois University, and was deployed to Iraq in November. He had been in the Army only for eight months but was already a platoon leader.
Also killed in the attack were Spc. Emilio Campo of Minnesota, Pfc. Michael Cook of Ohio, Pfc. Christopher Fishbeck of California and Spc. Robert Hartwick of Ohio.
The soldiers were part of a brigade assigned to support the development of Iraq forces and the improvement of civilian life in central Iraq. Each of the soldiers had served less than two years and were on their first deployment.
The SouthtownStar reports Olivieri's wake will be held on Wednesday at the Modell Funeral Home, at 12641 W. 143rd St. in Homer Glen. His funeral will be held at the same location Thursday, and he will be buried at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
His family wants donations in his memory made to the Homer Township Public Library to support a silent reading room. They may be sent to the library at 1432- W. 151st St., Homer Glen, IL 60491, the SouthtownStar reported.
