Semi-Truck Jumps Wall On Dan Ryan, Lands On Red Line Tracks
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A car-carrying semi-truck jumped the concrete wall separating the Dan Ryan Expressway from the CTA Red Line Sunday night, landing on the newly repaired tracks and damaging the third rail.
The truck hit the wall near the 69th Street station and landed on the southbound tracks, according to Fire Media Affairs.
No injuries were reported and the Illinois Department of Transportation was able to remove the truck.
Repairs were made to the tracks by early Monday, and the CTA said normal operations were expected for the Monday morning rush.
