Semi Slams Into SUV In Crash That Shuts Down I-80
MORRIS, Ill. (CBS) -- A newspaper delivery woman was hurt after a semi-trailer truck slammed into the sport-utility vehicle she was driving southwest of Chicago.
The crash happened around 2 a.m. Friday on Interstate 80 near Route 47 in Morris. The truck rear-ended the SUV as they traveled in the eastbound lanes.
The vehicle the woman was in ended up on the side of the highway, while the semi slid across several lanes of traffic.
Police had to shut down the highway for two hours, but everything had been reopened by 6 a.m.
The victims are expected to recover.
A crash near the same stretch of road killed a 41-year-old semi-truck driver on Thursday afternoon.
