CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police were searching Belmont Harbor on Sunday, after a missing man's jacket was found along the lakefront.
The Chicago Police Marine Unit was searching the harbor after friends found the jacket of 28-year-old Philip Patnaude, who went missing early Saturday. He had been out for a night of drinking with friends, and then said he was going to the lakefront.
The marine unit arrived at the harbor Sunday afternoon to begin searching the water, while many of Patnaude's friends and family members watched from the shore.
Friends said Philip Patnaude is engaged to be married in October. They have been out passing out fliers near the lakefront and near Patnaude's home in the 3200 block of North Ashland Avenue, where he lived with his fiancée.
Police say Patnaude had been out for a night of drinking and then said he was going to the lakefront.

Patnaude's friend Megan O'Sullivan says Patnaude apparently took a cab to Belmont Harbor about 2:30 Saturday morning.
She says he is adventurous and outgoing - and his hobby is climbing structures.
"The assumption might be that he wanted to go out adventuring and possibly ended up injuring himself. We don't really know, obviously. We love him dearly."
O'Sullivan says Patnaude is an engineer and is engaged to be married in October.
Patnaude is 6-foot-1, 175-pound, white with a light complexion, blond hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a black ski jacket, a dark purple button down shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Friends have set up a Facebook page so share information about the effort to find Patnaude.
