CHICAGO (CBS) -- The mystery behind what happened to a University of Chicago student in last week's rain storm continues, reports WBBM's Michele Fiore.

More than four days later, Kimbark Plaza along 53rd Street is dotted with flyers, bearing the picture of Austin Hudson-Lapore. That's the last place anyone saw him. Word about his disappearance has spread among university students.

"it is sort of confusing like you don't know what is going on. We actually had a bunch of friends who were talking about it last night," said Cam Cunningham.

Cunningham questions how the 20-year-old man wound up leaving his wallet and his cell phone behind.

"You're in class texting, you have your wallet everywhere. I mean, if you need to buy anything you need your wallet," said Cunningham.

Autry Harrison spent Father's Day walking along the lakefront. There he spotted something concerning, flyers, regarding the missing person's case of 20-year-old Austin Hudson-Lapore.

Harrison said that it is "very concerning because we have a son about his age and we have daughters and they are always out in the community all the time. I mean, young teenagers are around here all the time."

A search of the lake at 57th Street by the Chicago police marine unit this weekend failed to turn up any clues. The young man disappeared Wednesday after finals. Family members say they Skyped with him that day, and he seemed happy.
