Seahawks Fan Starts Petition To Ban Cam Newton From Seattle
(CBS) Cam Newton's a ton of fun to watch play football, and we'll get one more look this season during Super Bowl 50. However, not everyone is too keen on the Carolina Panthers quarterback.
Andrew Tilton of Seattle formed a petition on Change.org to ban Newton from the Seahawks' CenturyLink Field.
The petition reads the following:
"Cam Newton is one of the most unprofessional, unsportsmanlike individual on the face of the planet. So I say for the 2016-2017 when the Panthers come to play in Seattle he should be banned from entering the stadium. This should teach him to put his arrogance in check!!"
Tilton's petition had more than 1,000 supporters as of 1 p.m. CT, largely consisting of Seahawks fans. Most outside of Seattle are opposed to the actions.
The clear MVP favorite of the 2015 season, Newton led the Panthers to a 15-1 mark in the regular season and now a berth in Super Bowl 50 against the Denver Broncos. That road to San Francisco included a 31-24 win over the Seahawks in the NFC Divisional round, the Panthers' second win over Seattle this season.
