Seahawks DE Bennett: I `100 percent' want to remain in Seattle

(CBS) Despite the best recruiting efforts of Bears tight end and brother Martellus Bennett, Seahawks defensive end and pending free agent Michael Bennett is set on staying in Seattle and playing for coach Pete Carroll.

"I want to be back here 100 percent," Bennett said, according to HeraldNet.com. "I love the team, I love my teammates. Pete does a great job of letting us play, so I want to be a part of that. I know we can go back and win a Super Bowl again with all these guys. It's a business, but I definitely want to be back."

Bennett was a key cog in Seattle's top-ranked defense that paved the way to a Super Bowl title, as he recorded 8 1/2 sacks this season. Given the Bears' need for pass rushers and his connection to Martellus, there was speculation Chicago would pursue Michael.

Alas, that doesn't appear to be a fruitful opportunity any longer. Michael appreciates the love from his brother but added it won't be a big factor.

"That doesn't matter much," he said. "I know he wants me to come out there and get a chance to play with him, but I'm definitely a Seahawk, and I definitely want to be here for the rest of my career."
