Seabrook On Pittsburgh Trip Despite Injury
(CBS) Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook made the trip to Pittsburgh Monday with the team despite leaving Sunday night's game in the first period.
Seabrook took a big hit from behind by Calgary forward Rene Bourque and his face went straight into the boards. The defenseman fell straight to ice and laid motionless for a few minutes before being help to the locker room. He did not return.
Whether or not Seabrook plays in Tuesday's game against the Penguins is still in question, but it is a good sign that he is traveling. He has suffered three previous head injuries and Sunday's hit could have been serious.
Bourque was kicked out of the game after the hit and faces a disciplinary hearing with the NHL this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Daniel Carcillo did not travel with the team to Pittsburgh and will miss his third straight game with an upper body injury.
