Scott: Vancouver's Bieksa 'A Terrible Hockey Player'
CHICAGO (CBS) For the second straight game, the Chicago Blackhawks routed the Vancouver Canucks to avoid elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. And also for the second straight game, the two teams got into their fair share of skirmishes after the whistle.
Do you ever wonder what gets said amongst the pushing, slashing and face washing?
Chicago's John Scott was more than happy to let the world in on the conversations he was having with Vancouver's Kevin Bieksa.
"Just reminding him he's a terrible hockey player," Scott said after the Blackhawks 5-0, Game 5 victory. "Just always have to tell him he's not a good hockey player."
At 6'8'' and 258 pounds, Scott is clearly too much of a physical challenge for Bieksa and rest of the Canucks. But before this series is over, Scott may end up dropping the gloves with someone from Vancouver's squad. The Blackhawks are already down defenseman Brent Seabrook after Vancouver's Raffi Torres delivered to hit to his head when he wasn't looking.
And on Thursday night, Alex Edler elbowed Troy Brouwer in the head, another apparent cheap shot from the Canucks that might draw attention from league's disciplinarian, Colin Campbell. If one of these skirmishes does come to blows, the Canucks should try their best to avoid Scott, or potentially suffer the same fate as Los Angeles' Kevin Westgarth.
