Scott Fires Back At Thornton, 'I'll Kick The [Bleep] Out Of Him'
The Boston Bruins' Shawn Thornton received roughly 40 stitches above his eye after he got cut during Tuesday night's game against the Chicago Blackhawks, but something else from that game has him angry.
On his way off the ice, after suffering the injury, Thornton says the Blackhawks taunted him and later reiterated the fact that he thinks the Blackhawks are a team that "chirp a lot."
And Blackhawks' enforcer John Scott, for one, doesn't seem to care much for Thornton's assessment of his team.
"He said that? That's fine," Scott said. "He can say what he wants. He's going after some of our littlest guys on our team to start a fight. He's trying to challenge [Fernando] Pisani to a fight. What's that say about him?"
The Blackhawks and Bruins could only face each other again this season if both teams reached the Stanley Cup Finals, and even then neither team would likely do anything stupid.
So if Thornton is in fact going to, like he says, find who said something and "deal with it in my own way," that might have to wait.
But there's one person on the Blackhawks who would love the opportunity to have Thornton come chirping his way.
"He's Mr. Tough Guy and he's trying to challenge Pisani," Scott said. "If I'm in the lineup, he's more than welcome to come chirp at me. I'll kick the [bleep] out of him."
