Schuster: Rose With Another MVP Performance
We're all running out of superlatives for Derrick Rose but soon enough we'll simple say MVP. Rose had another most valuable performance Friday night as the Bulls defeated Atlanta 94-76.
Actually Rose was fairly pedestrian in the opening half shooting just 2/11 but then he came alive in the 3rd quarter and attacked at will. The result was he scored 18 of his game high 34 points and even had Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant (sitting court side) high fiving each other.
The Bulls defense was outstanding in the 2nd half holding the Hawks to just 26 points and their bench was fantastic (again) hitting 18 of 29 shots. Luol Deng, playing hurt, scored 18 points while Kurt Thomas and Joakim Noah combined for 24 rebounds.
The win was the Bulls 10th straight at the United Center and raised their overall record to a league best 28-4 but most importantly they are now just a half game behind Boston for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
