Schuster: Rose And Bulls Go For Game 3 Win
By David Schuster--
INDIANAPOLIS (WSCR) One year ago today I reported on the Blackhawks playoff game (they won) in Nashville, and tonight I will be reporting on the Bulls playoff game in Indianapolis. Now I hate to be greedy but if it's on my birthday, the Bulls will have to keep up with the Blackhawks and they should...win.
Yes, the Pacers will come out with renewed vigor and the home crowd will re-energize them. But the Bulls are still the better team, and after playing a couple of pedestrian games in Chicago, will look to play much better tonight.
Look for Indiana to continue throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Derrick Rose, but he's seen it all before. The Pacers will start with a big guard on him instead of their smaller point guards. And they'll continue to trap him with double and triple teams once he gets across mid-court. But Rose, even beyond talented, is smart, will recognize the defense and pass to the open man who will have an open shot. Then, if needed, he will take over the game in crunch time.
Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng will be expected to pick up their scoring pace, and they should be able to if the Pacers concentrate so much attention on Rose. The bench is well rested and should be able to contribute more as well.
One year ago (after I finished all my work) I was able to celebrate the final hour of my B-day on the town in Nashville. Look out Indianapolis because history is repeating tonight.
