Schuster: Rose A Game-Time Decision, But Unlikely To Play
By David Schuster-
(CBS) Derrick Rose is getting closer to returning.
Officially the point guard is listed as a game time decision for tonight's game against Boston at the United Center, but the likelihood is that he'll miss another game with his bad back.
Rose has done a little shooting the last couple of days but has yet to run and until he does, he won't see any game action. And when will he know he's ready to go?
"I know it will be sore a little bit but I don't want to deal with it during the game where it gets tight and irritated," Rose said at Thursday's shootaround. "I think I'll come back when I'm ready."
And as for how much this is driving him crazy to sit and watch, Rose responded: "It's killing me right now. I hate to miss these big games especially vs. teams like Boston. It's definitely hurting me but I'm just trying to stay focused and keep my head right and get better.
Rose said he's not looking ahead towards the All-Star Game which comes up later this month and hopes to be back on the court before that.
