Schuster: Noah To Have Surgery And Be Out 2 Months

Joakim Noah had yet another double-double Wednesday night but it likely will be his last for quite a while. The Bulls have announced that the 6'11" center will have surgery Thursday morning to repair damage in his right thumb.
Noah originally suffered the injury back in November and has been playing with a wrap for the last three weeks. The team has determined that there are torn ligaments in the thumb and surgery is the only option to repair the damage.
This is obviously a blow to a team that currently is flying high with 7 straight wins. Number 7 came Wednesday in Toronto behind Carlos Boozer's 34 points and now Boozer and crew will have to leave without their starting center for the next 8-10 weeks.
The Bulls were already talking to other teams about a shooting guard but now potentially will look to pick up some help in the middle. Forget Taj Gibson going anywhere as he will have to fill Noah's void along with Omer Asik.
If Noah is out the maximum of 10 weeks that would bring him back around the beginning of March which will give him and the team about 5 weeks to jell as a unit before the playoffs start.
