Schuster: No More Talk, Bulls Ready For Playoffs
By David Schuster--
CHICAGO (WSCR) -- The time for talk is over. It's NBA playoff time and the Chicago Bulls are ready.
Tom Thibodeau led his team through a final two-hour practice Friday and then told reporters that his team is ready for anything that the Indiana Pacers will throw at them. What they'll throw is likely a double team of Derrick Rose as soon as he steps past mid court. Now this isn't anything that Rose hasn't seen countless times during the regular season, so both he and the team should be able to adapt. Thibodeau says the best way to counteract the double team is to play good defense and get out and run.
Rose, who is still getting over a cold, told us that he is much better prepared for the postseason than he was the last two years. In both of those campaigns, the Bulls were big underdogs where as this time they are heavy favorites. Rose says he will try and take advantage of the smaller Indiana point guards and take the ball to the rim. He also says he has supreme confidence in his teammates if he has to give up the ball.
And then there is Joakim Noah who is revved up to begin with but the playoffs always seem to make his motor run even hotter. Noah told us that the Bull need to eliminate the small silly mistakes because those are the ones that separate winning and losing.
The series starts Saturday with game one at noon and the prediction here is the Bulls in five.
