Schuster: Konerko Eyeing Return On Thursday

(WSCR) Paul Konerko is hoping to be back in the White Sox lineup on Thursday.
Konerko had a medical procedure late Tuesday to flush a bone chip out of his left wrist, which was hindering both his swinging of a bat and catching the ball. This is the second time that this malady has cropped up for Konerko and ironically, he had the same medical procedure done almost one year ago to the day.
The pain cropped up on Monday, and Konerko explains the situation.
"The bone chip got me again," he said. "We flushed it out and now obviously it's still sore from having a couple of needles in there along with the fluid that was pumped in there".
And to the non-educated, Konerko explains what exactly flushing out means.
"They just go into the joint with a couple of needles and they get up near the bone chip and then with a syringe they just lay it on the loose fragment and the pressure of the fluid forces the chip out," he said.
As for other injury news: Koske Fukodome is not doing well. Manager, Robin Ventura said Fukodome's ribs are still very sore and he could go on the Disabled List. Brent Morel continues to rehab at Charlotte with his bad back. Ventura said Morel is coming along but still has no date for his return to the big league club. John Danks had another bullpen session and reported no pain and is expected to make one minor league rehab start either over the weekend or early next week.
