Schuster: It's Simple, Blackhawks Need To Score To Win
By David Schuster-
BOSTON (CBS) -- You can't win if you don't score, and that was the case in Game 3 for the Blackhawks, who were shut out 2-0 by the Bruins. The Hawks have now gone the last two games with only one goal total and that has to change.
"We just have to find a way and we have to get inside or get a rebound" said Duncan Keith.
And how about at least getting some shots on the power play? That would be a start. The Hawks are now 0/11 with the man advantage in this series, and haven't scored a power play goal since Game 2 in the Western Conference Finals against the L.A. Kings.
"We're not going to hang our heads about it. We're going to continue to work and make it productive," said Patrick Sharp. But anemic would be a good word to describe the current status of the Hawks odd man advantage.
To be sure, the Hawks have been down previously in this postseason. They trailed Detroit by a 3-1 margin, but did rally to win that series and obviously that experience is having a carryover effect.
"We're not panicking or worried" said captain Jonathan Toews. "We're going to come back and play better in Game 4, and we'll get right back on track"
But it starts with the offense and as mentioned earlier, you can't win if you don't score.
