Schuster: Dunn Returns To Lineup As White Sox Take On A's
By David Schuster--
The Chicago White Sox said that Adam Dunn would miss at least five games after undergoing his appendectomy, and they were right. Dunn returns to the lineup this evening as the White Sox take on the Oakland A's. Dunn has played in a total of four games, so far accumulating a batting average of .286 with one home run and five Runs Batted In.
Dunn has been taking batting practice the last couple of days, and with each passing day has said the pain and discomfort was reduced. When asked if he was taking full swings in the cage he told us that he never swings with full force until the games themselves so it will be interesting to see how he feels after tonight.
Dunn will, of course, be the Designated Hitter this evening in the third spot in Ozzie Guillen's lineup with Paul Konerko hitting fourth and Omar Vizquel will play second giving Gordon Beckham a night off.
Tuesday night will be Dunn's U.S. Cellular Debut.
