Schuster: Don't Expect Draft Day Trades From Bulls

CHICAGO (WSCR) Bulls General Manager Gar Forman all but said not to expect the Bulls to make any deals during the NBA Draft on Thursday night.
"Never Say never to anything," Forman said. "But our plan as of today is that we will use our two picks."
The two picks he's referring to are the 28th and 30th overall selections. Bulls fans better have patience, because it will take about two and a half hours for the Bulls to officially be on the clock.
Obviously an upgrade at shooting guard looks to be paramount, but Forman said maybe not.
"We're not going outside of our box of who we think are the best prospects at that position, to reach for a certain need," he said. "We'll take who we think is the best player available on the board, regardless of position."
Now that sure sounds good, but there is almost no chance the Bulls don't select some kind of shooting guard with either of their first picks. They know they have to upgrade at that spot, and might just gamble on a player to do so.
With the possibility of a work stoppage, there's a sense that teams will be less likely to make a trade on draft day, a usually busy day for NBA trades.
"I do get the sense, because of the unknown, that there might not be as much movement as usual," Forman said. "However, we are talking to teams about possible scenarios so you never know."
