Schuster: Do Or Die For Blackhawks
By David Schuster-
BOSTON (CBS) It's not an elimination game Wednesday night, but it's still do or die for the Blackhawks.
Yes, they have already rallied from a 3-1 deficit in a series against Detroit, but the Bruins are better than the Red Wings were, so Game 4 is a must-win.
"We know they're a good team and tough to play against, but we all still feel confident,' Johnny Oduya said. "We knew we had to come here and steal a game and that's what we're still looking to do."
Getting some offense would be nice (actually, critical), since the Blackhawks have scored just two goal in their last two games. And dare we say a power-play goal would be nice, too, as it's now 0-for-11 in this series?
"The guys on the power play have to focus and be prepared to play the best two minutes when they're out there," Brent Seabrook said. "And if we're not scoring on it then we have to try and create momentum and get things rolling forward."
Another step in the right direction would be to get Jonathan Toews into the scoring column.
The Hawks captain has but one goal in 20 postseason games but he still has his defenders.
"You can always measure how Johnny is going to be competing because game in and game out, he always leaves it out there," head coach Joel Quenneville said. "He may be pressing offensively, but certainly it would be nice to get some production and some finish to show for it."
Quenville also said that he expects Marian Hossa to play in Game 4. Hossa was a late scratch in Game 3 with the guesses ranging from a neck injury to a strained groin.
