Schuster: Castro Speaks, Doesn't Address Sex Assault Allegations

MESA, Ariz. (CBS) -- It wasn't exactly an interrogation, but reporters finally got a chance to speak with Starlin Castro Friday.
This was the first time that Castro has spoken since being accused of sexually assaulting a woman back in September. Castro didn't really address the specific allegations but said he has learned quite a lesson.
"You have to be very careful because there are a lot of bad people in the world," he said. "I cooperated with the police and don't have really anything else to say about it."
Castro leaned on many of his teammates during the tough times.
"Soriano talked to me many times and told me not to worry about it and that he knows that I didn't do nothing," Castro said.
We caught up with Soriano who expressed the same feelings.
"He's so young but he didn't make a mistake because he didn't do anything wrong," Soriano said. "I believe in him and I think he'll learn from this. He tends to think that everybody is a friend to him and now after what happened to him he'll have to be a little bit more careful."
Castro wouldn't divulge what still has to happen for this incident to be totally put in the rear view mirror but he saids he thinks it will be resolved very soon. He also expressed a deep desire to move on.
"In the beginning it was tough, I've taken this out of my mind and am preparing to play baseball," he said.
No charges have been filed in the case.
