Schuster: Cashner Leaves Game With Injury
By David Schuster--
Andrew Cashner had to leave Tuesday's game in the sixth inning after he experienced tightness in his right shoulder. The hard throwing right hander was making his first major league start and pitching very well before the injury cropped up. Officially he went five and a third innings allowing just two hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
Cashner beat out Carlos Silva for the fifth spot in the Cubs rotation and has a promising future. His fastball is in the upper 90's and has shown great improvement on his other pitches. Stay tuned for further details on the injury.
