Schuster: Bulls Win Again And Now East By 2
Carlos Boozer said it was like a playoff game while Luol Deng disagreed but either way it was a very physical game that saw the Bulls defeat Memphis 99-96. And it was definitely close witness 17 ties and 23 lead changes and wasn't decided until the Grizzlies missed a last second 3 pointer.
The biggest of the big plays was Derrick Rose hitting a driving left handed layup and free throw with 11 seconds to go. Rose finished with a game high 24 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists but his shooting eye wasn't there Friday night as he went just 6 of 22 from the field. Luol Deng added 23 points and the bench again came up big with 29 points bailing out the starters who struggled in the first half.
With the victory the Bulls have now won 14 straight at home and their overall record at the United Center is now 32-4. And with Boston losing at home again (this time to Charlotte), the Bulls now have a 2 game lead for the top spot in the East with just 11 left to play.
