Schuster: Bulls Up 2-Zip

By David Schuster--

It's pretty amazing that the Indiana Pacers have led a major majority of the opening two games yet trail in the series 2-Zip. And there's a two word answer for why...Derrick Rose. The White Sox may not have a closer but the Bulls certainly do and Rose has almost single handedly closed out the first two games of this series. The latest example was  Monday night when the 3rd year point guard scored 14 of his game high 36 points in the fourth quarter rallying his team for a 96-90 victory.

Rose was magnificent and he had to be since the Bulls were fairly stale on offense. Carlos Boozer had 17 points but most of them came in the first half and Luol Deng was shooting crooked (just 3 of 13). So Rose repeatedly went hard to the basket and if he wasn't making his shots he was getting fouled and then converting from the free throw line.

Rose now has 75 points in the first two games and the Bulls have need almost all of them. Unfortunately their defense was shaky again in game 2 and their hands looked like they were coated with butter witness 22 turnovers.

The series now moves to Indianapolis for games 3 and 4 with the  3rd contest coming up on Thursday night.
