Schuster: Bulls Send Message To The Celtics
By David Schuster--
The Bulls pretty much wrapped up the Eastern Conference Thursday night with a convincing 97-81 victory over the Celtics. The victory reduced the Bulls magic number down to one and they should make it official when they play at Cleveland Friday night.
Derrick Rose seemed to be playing at a different speed then everyone else on the court. Rose repeatedly beat both his defender and anyone else in a green uniform to the basket and his shots were hilight reel material. In the first half alone he kept pulling the fans out of their seats with dunks or incredible dipsy doo layups in a crowd. It was almost as if he put an exclamation mark on his soon to be M.V.P. award. Rose finished with 30 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds and heard the MVP chant all night long.
Also having good games were Luol Deng with 23 points and Carlos Boozer who finished with a double double of 14 points and 12 boards and showed again why the Bulls picked him up. Against the better teams you have to have a physical presence down low and Boozer is certainly that.
The guess here is that this was the last time the Bulls will see Boston this season because the Celtics and Heat will likely meet in the 2nd round of the playoffs and my money is on the Heat winning. And then it will be the Bulls and Miami for the Conference Finals but we're getting ahead of ourselves and it's sure fun to think about.
