Schuster: Bulls Shoot Crooked And Lose

By David Schuster

The timing couldn't have been any worse for the Bulls to play a bad game as they dropped an 85-75 decision to the Heat. Some will say that the Heat played great defense, but I won't.

Yes, they defended better then they did in Game 1, but the Bulls missed at least a dozen shots at the rim and for good measure missed 10 more at the free throw line. That's not great defense. That's poor shooting.

Derrick Rose had an awful game (for him) going just 7 for 23 from the field. In fact only one Bulls player shot over 50 percent for the game, that being Taj Gibson who was 4 of 7.  Overall the Bulls shot 34 percent for the game, 61 percent from the line and just 15 percent from behind the arc. That wont win many pre season games much less playoff contests.

Lebron James and Dwayne Wade definitely stepped it up but neither was other worldly so if the Bulls could have played better they could have and should have won this game. In fact, neither team was that great as each went ridiculously long stretches without scoring

So now this series has loooooong written all over it with 4 days in between games. Following a day off on Thursday, the Bulls will get back to practice on Friday and game 3 wont come up until Sunday night in Miami. Maybe the Bulls will find their shooting touch by then.
