Schuster: Bulls Butt Kick Sacramento
By David Schuster--
With the memory of last season's blowing of a 35 point lead and subsequent loss to Sacramento, there was no way the Bulls were going to repeat that dubious effort. So when the Bulls got up early on the Kings this time they poured it on and ended up winning by 40 (132-92).
The Bulls thrashed the Kings every way possible and in every statistical category. They shot 61%, they had 8 players in double figure scoring, they scored 35 points off Sacramento turnovers, they outscored the Kings 56-22 in the paint and their bench outscored their counterparts 52-22. Can you say complete domination?
Derrick Rose and Kyle Korver led the way with 18 points apiece and Rose had a couple of absolute highlite dunks that you'll be seeing for a long long time.
The win also was the Bulls 50th on the season and it was the first time since the 97/98 season that they have reached the 50 win plateau. That was the last title team with Michael Jordan and crew. And the win also allowed the Bulls to keep pace with Boston who came from behind to beat the Knicks so the two teams remain tied on top of the Eastern Conference standings.
