School Evacuated When Nearby Gas Line Explodes In Logan Square

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A school was evacuated in the Logan Square neighborhood Wednesday morning when a gas line exploded.
The Fire Department called a Level 2 Hazardous Materials response was called for the explosion at Logan Boulevard and Maplewood Avenue, fire officials said.
St. John Berchmans Catholic elementary school is located near the scene, at 2517 W. Logan Blvd.
The Fire Department was evacuating St. John Berchmans at 9:50 a.m. No injuries or hospital transports were reported.
The children were moved from the school to a location nearby.
