Scheelhaase, Dimke Take Player Of The Week Honors
Red shirt Freshman QB Nathan Scheelhaase and Junior Kicker Derek Dimke were named Big Ten Players of the Week. Both players were honored for the efforts in the 33-13 Illini victory over Penn State.
Scheelhaase earned the Freshman of the Week honors by raking up 212 combined yards and throwing for a touchdown. He was 15 of 19 for 151 yards and ran eight times for 61 yards.
Dimke hit field goals from 31, 37, 41 and 50 yards and three extra points and won the Co-Special Teams Player of the Week award. The 50-yard field goal was his second from 50 yards or more this season,
