Schakowsky: 'Graphic' Bin Laden Death Photos Should Remain Sealed

CHICAGO (CBS) -- U.S. Rep Jan Schakowsky was escorted into CIA headquarters this afternoon where she became one of a select few people to get a look at the death photos of Osama Bin Laden.

Schakowsky was among members of the House Intelligence Committee who were invited to see the photographs for themselves.

"Obviously the pictures are quite graphic, and it's something you think about." she said. "It wasn't something I relished the idea of going to see them. I wanted to see them to be able to confirm in my own mind that it would be a serious mistake for them to be widely circulated and I certainly have convinced myself of that."

Schakowsky said there was no good reason to release the photos publicly.

"You can just imagine that if they were released they would go viral on-line, and we've already seen one retaliatory action in Pakistan," she said. "I think it would incite violence and there's no need for that."

Schakowsky said the pictures are "quite graphic."
